Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean has revealed that the club will have to consider any offers for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Junior-c20060 Hoilett, since he will be out of contract in the summer.
The 21-year-old has attracted the likes of Tottenham Hotspur but could not previously speak to them since he was contracted to the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385. However, now that his current contract will be out in the summer, Hoilett might be permitted to speak to other clubs
regarding a possible move.
According to Kean, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Canada-c748 international could decide where he wanted to go or if he wanted to remain with the club after the summer. He believed since Hoilett had just six months on his contract, he had the upper hand and the decision making ability.
He said while speaking to reporters:
“What we have to do is to continue to be open and honest with Junior and say 'we want you to stay'.
If he would like to commit his future to the club we have always said from day one that we would like to get it tied up.”
The Scottish manager admitted he did not want to part ways with Hoilett any time soon, since the young winger had shown potential to be one of the best in the Premier League. He did admit that it was highly likely that Hoilett would start looking elsewhere.
Kean was still looking for a way to convince the youngster to commit his future to Ewood Park, but knew it was entirely up to Hoilett. He admitted that now it was up to a point where they would have to consider bids if they came in.
He continued:
“He has probably taken the opportunity to look elsewhere. I don't know where he is on it. If we can get to a point where he wants to sign then great.
If not, if there is a bid that comes in then we would obviously have to consider that, and the fact that he hadn't signed.
But no bids have come in.”
He also went on to clarify that no bids had come in as yet, which meant the Hoilett would be staying with the Rovers.
