It's dragging on a bit now and there are only a couple of little technicalities in it, the broad base of its agreed.”
Kean revealed he was aware of the effect contract negotiations had on a player, especially since they brought with them an uncertainty. It was for this very reason that he wanted Hoilett to commit his future to the club as soon as possible.
The Blackburn Rovers boss admitted that along with the player, he expected Hoilett’s commitment to the club to uplift the supporters. After a poor start to the new season, the fans are not too happy with the manager and recently sent a letter to the owners,
asking them to consider Kean’s position at the club.
He continued:
“It would be good for the supporters. He showed certainly at the end of last season what he can do and I'm anxious that he can put his contract thing behind him, get him signed and get back to that form.
Because no doubt if you keep on talking about new contracts it's spinning about somewhere in your head, and we want to get that nailed and put to bed.”
