English Premier League side Blackburn Rovers have confirmed that the assistant manager John Jensen has left his position with the club. Even though Jensen’s contract was recently extended in May, it seems the club have decided to part ways with the 46-year-old
former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denmark-c2884 international. It has not yet been made clear the reasons for his premature departure.
An official statement on the club’s website read:
“John Jensen is to leave his position as assistant manager with Blackburn Rovers.
The club would like to thank John for his efforts over the last nine months and offer him best wishes for the future.”
A former footballer, Jensen began his career with Brondby IF in the 1986-1987 season, moving on to Hamburg SV just two years later. In 1990, he returned to his former side, where he had been crowned the Danish Player of the Year in 1987. A four year move
to English Premier League giants http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 saw him return to Brondby IF yet again, after which he moved to Herfolge BK, where he finished his playing career.
It was at Herfolge BK, a Danish outfit, where Jensen began his coaching career, shortly after his retirement from playing football. The former Arsenal midfielder managed to win the Danish Superliga in his very first attempt, which made him somewhat of a
legend for the club. However, the club was relegated the very next season after which Jensen moved back to Brondby IF as the assistant manager.
Working under http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Randers-FC-c40313, a Danish club. However,
he was sacked after a particularly poor run of matches which led to his return to English football.
He initially signed a six month contract with Blackburn Rovers, with his success under manager Steve Kean earning him a one year contract extension. However, a recent run of poor performances have seen a section of supporters express their desire to change
the management at the club. While Kean still remains in charge, it seems Jensen has had to pay the price for the poor start to the new season.
