Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean expects Chris Samba to stay, promises new signings
Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean revealed he did not expect any more players to leave the club during the summer transfer window after the departure of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Phil-Jones-c29903 to Manchester United and rumours suggesting that Chris Samba was heading close to an Ewood
Park exit. The Rovers boss also said he was planning to bring in new signings to strengthen the squad for the upcoming season.
Phil Jones, the 19-year-old central defender c*m defensive midfielder attracted the interest of the English Premier League giants towards the end of the last campaign. An agreement was soon reached between the two sides, with Manchester United securing the

While Kean has no intention of parting with more players, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, who are apparently
attempting to lure the Blackburn man to the Emirates Stadium.
Kean admitted he expected Jones to part ways with the club, with the young defensive midfielder looking for Champions League football. Samba, the Blackburn captain, on the other hand was expected to stay. Kean said Samba had recently signed a contract extension
and he expected the Congolese to honour his five-year contract.
Kean said while speaking to reporters:
“Chris Samba is only a few months into a new five-year contract, we haven't had any bids and hopefully we don't get any to be honest.”
Kean also squashed rumours suggesting Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 did not have the necessary funds to bring in new signings during the transfer window. According to the manager, Blackburn were looking to add to certain areas where he felt the Rovers needed reinforcements.
Kean revealed he was looking for a striker, a versatile midfielder and a central defender to further strengthen the back four.
The Blackburn manager continued:
“We'll be spending. We've got a very good budget and we're looking to strengthen in areas that we need to improve on from last season.
We don't have to sell before we buy because we're trying to keep the majority of the squad together. It is a fixed budget, it's competitive and will bring in players of good quality.”
