Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean hints at Christopher Samba and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Martin-Olsson-c24423’s return for Swansea City clash
Steve Kean, the Blackburn Rovers manager, revealed that defenders http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christopher-Samba-c9212 and Martin Olsson could be back for the English Premier League side as soon as this weekend. The duo have been missing in action for the Rovers but could be back to face
Swansea City at Ewood Park this Saturday.
Both Samba and Olsson had picked up hamstring injuries, which had them sidelined for the last couple of weeks. Their absence made a huge difference for the Kean’s men as they struggled to score goals and stop from conceding them, losing most of their fixtures.
However, with their return, Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 can aim for better results in the upcoming English Premier League fixtures. After Swansea City, the Rovers will take on Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion. All three sides are struggling and Blackburn Rovers
stand a chance of taking away some much needed points.
Kean said in an interview:
“Hopefully there'll be some lads that'll make the Swansea game.
They won't make the game on Tuesday, but Samba and Olsson should be fine for the Swansea game which will be massive for us.”
Kean had expressly stated that he did not expect the players to be back in the mid-week Carling Cup fixture against Cardiff City. Blackburn Rovers crashed out of the cup competition as they lost 2-0 to the Championship side, with the absence of the defenders
one of the main reasons they failed to keep a clean sheet.
The manager was hopeful ahead of the Carling Cup clash, claiming that his side were going to do well and planned to create many chances. He revealed he hoped a win in the League Cup would help them with a win in the upcoming clash against Swansea City in
the Premier League.
He continued:
“We'll put out a side that we think will do well.
With the ball we are making chances, so lets go and get through this tie and then we can look forward to Swansea.”
However, having been dumped out of the League Cup, Blackburn Rovers will now be focused on the Premier League and attempting to climb out of the bottom three. Swansea City, Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion will provide them the perfect opportunity.
