Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean hopeful appointment of Paul Clement will help ease pressure
Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean revealed he was pleased with the appointment of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 assistant first team coach would help ease some of the pressures he
faced as the manager of the English Premier League club.
Kean has indeed been under a lot of pressure following an incredibly poor start to the new season, which sees his side at the bottom of the Premier League table. In addition to the poor form, the Rovers boss had to deal with a section of supporters calling
for his removal. The fans were seen holding up posters and banners of “Kean Out” in the side’s last few Premier League fixtures.
The Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 owners Venky’s, in an attempt to appease the disgruntled supporters, sacked the assistant manager John Jensen. While his departure was expected to bring about a change, it did leave Kean without an assistant, putting the manager under
further pressure. However, the appointment of Clement will undoubtedly make things easier for the Scottish manager.
Kean said while speaking to reporters:
“When you get any member of staff that is qualified to the level he is then you share responsibility, you delegate and you work with the players as much as you can.”
Kean admitted he was unable to delegate his time to his various duties after the departure of Jensen, which is why Clement’s arrival was welcomed. He revealed he had prior acquaintance of the 39-year-old from their experience together while on the Fulham
coaching staff. In addition to his previous experience, Kean hoped their time together would help them at Blackburn Rovers.
He continued
“Often the manager has other commitments with the owners or the press and gets pulled away at times.
But when you have an assistant who can work at the training ground and you dovetail and gel well then the manager can come back in easily and I am sure we will have that relationship because I know him very well and we go back a long time.”
Clement has a highly impressive CV, having worked with both Guus Hiddink and Carlo Ancelotti at Stamford Bridge. It was during his time there that the Blues won their first ever double of the English Premier League and the FA Cup in the 2009-2010 season
under the former AC Milan boss. Kean was hopeful his experience with the Premier League giants would help his faltering side recover from their poor start.
Kean revealed:
“He worked closely with Guus Hiddink and Carlo Ancelotti, with whom he managed to win the double.”
Blackburn Rovers currently have just four points from their opening fixtures of the Premier League and are just one place above bottom place Bolton Wanderers on the table. The club returns from their tour of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/India-c750 during the international break, where they
