Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean proud of goal scorer Yakubu after win, confused over continuing chants
Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean revealed he did not understand why the fans were protesting during the Rovers 4-2 win over Swansea City over the weekend. It was Blackburn Rovers striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Yakubu-Aiyegbeni-c37132 who scored all four goals for his side, but even
he could not drown out the noise at Ewood Park.
Kean said while speaking to reporters:
“There must be other issues because I can't fathom why, when we're leading a game, they're chanting, but that's their prerogative.
I'm always positive. I think we're in a good run of games and the best thing to do is go on an unbeaten run and climb the table.”
The Rovers boss was extremely pleased by the win over Swansea City which gave his side some much needed points to help them climb up from the relegation zone. He refused to be brought down by protestors, who were still calling for his removal.
He continued:
“It's not frustrating in the least. I'm very happy. My dressing room is bouncing. If people want to stay after the game and protest it's up to them, but it doesn't affect us at all.”
Kean revealed that like him, his squad were also not affected by the protestors and would go on to do their best in their upcoming fixtures. After a terrible start to the season, Blackburn Rovers finally look to be on their way up.
In a highly entertaining game, which saw Swansea City’s Joe Allen get sent off, Yakubu became the first Blackburn Rovers player to score four goals in one game. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 boss was extremely proud of the 29-year-old Nigerian striker.
Kean revealed:
“He's got 10 goals so far this season and the good thing is it's different types of goals - he scores penalties, tap-ins and goals like the first one today.”
Yakubu, who signed for Blackburn Rovers in the summer transfer window of 2011 for an undisclosed fee from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 has managed to score 10 goals in 11 appearances. However, Kean refused to label it a one man show and praised the rest of the team for playing
their role in the goals as well.
