Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 boss Steve Kean targets a win against Everton
Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean urged his players to build on their Carling Cup win and get results in the English Premier League. Blackburn Rovers have started the new season on back-to-back losses which sees them at the bottom of the Premier League
table with 0 points. They lost their opening day fixture to Wolverhampton Wanderers before going on to lose to Aston Villa.
They prepare to take on Everton at Ewood Park today and Kean said he was hopeful his side would get a positive result. Like Blackburn Rovers, Everton have not had the best of starts to the season and are also currently at the bottom of the Premier League.
However, unlike http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043, Blackburn Rovers will be full of confidence ahead of the fixture.
Kean’s side registered a 3-1 win over League One side Sheffield Wednesday in the Carling Cup during mid-week. The Blackburn Rovers manager was confident their hard work would pay off and they would finally get out of their early slump to earn a decent result
and possibly three points. Kean did not feel his side had been too bad against Wolverhampton Wanderers or Aston Villa.
Kean said while speaking to reporters:
“We have worked hard in both the games so far and just not managed to get anything out of them.”
He continued:
“The stats will tell you that it was a very close game with Villa and with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952, so for us to get a win against Sheffield Wednesday was great because of the things you work on the training ground from the previous games that need to be put right.”
Kean was proud of his side’s win over Sheffield Wednesday and was certain their home advantage and confident against Everton would make a difference. Everton lost to newly promoted side Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 at home and have not made an impact as yet. Kean
felt it was more their lack of activity in the summer transfer window than anything else.
Kean said:
“http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 Moyes is a top manager and I think what he has done at Everton has been fantastic considering the limited resources he's had.”
He praised Everton manager David Moyes, who he felt had done well with the little resources he was provided in the summer transfer window. However, Kean revealed he was planning to take the Toffees seriously and put out a strong side to guarantee results.
The manager is under pressure from the supporters and owners to deliver results, especially after making new signings towards the end of the transfer window.
