Steve Kean believes that if his side can take six points from the remaining nine available then Blackburn will be playing Barclays Premier League football next season.
Blackburn Rovers find themselves on the wrong end of the table at the worst of times in the Barclays Premier League. Steve Kean’s side currently occupy 19th position in the league with three games to go, however, they still have a good a chance
as any to avoid the drop into the Championship.
Bolton Wanderers sit above the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 in 18th place with only one point separating the two sides. However, one has to factor in the fact that Bolton do have a game in hand over Blackburn, which could prove crucial.
At the same time though, Blackburn are three points behind both Wigan Athletic and Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314. That means a win could potentially lift the club into 16th place and more importantly, to safety, although that depends on a number of events
taking place at the same time.
Blackburn face off against Tottenham Hotspur, which they could potentially snatch a result seeing how Harry Redknapp’s Spurs have been faltering recently, Wigan Athletic, which is a must win game for the side and Chelsea on the final day of the season.
However, Kean believes that they need just six points from those fixtures in order to avoid relegation. He said, “We need to win two of the three games, so including one of those against Tottenham and Chelsea. It’s a tough schedule on paper but at this time
of the season form goes out of the window.”
Kean continued by pointing out that the club have turned up against the big clubs on many an occasion this season and that experience will count now.
“We have gone to Old Trafford, Anfield and Goodison Park and got results this season so we know we can do the same at Tottenham and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786.”
As for any specific tactics that the manager plans to employ, Kean pointed out that his side “have been looking at weaknesses in areas which the players we have available can cause them problems.”
