English Premier League side Blackburn Rovers are determined to sign the 26-year-old Senegalese striker Papiss Cisse, but his current side http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385.
The Rovers admiration for Cisse goes a long way, with the Premier League outfit identifying the forward in the January transfer window as a possible signing.
While they were unable to bring him to Ewood Park in the winter transfer window, they are attempting to try again in the summer transfer window.
Last season for Freiburg, Cisse made a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Total-c40747 of 34 appearances in all competitions and scored an impressive 24 goals.
While he has been a Blackburn Rovers target for a while now, the side have not yet made an official offer, the player’s agent confirmed.
The strikers representative revealed that there had been interest from other top clubs as well and that Blackburn ought to hurry if they wished to stand a chance to sign Cisse.
He said in an interview:
“Blackburn watched him about 10 times last season and I have seen the scout. But as yet we have not heard anything official.
Of course Papiss would like the chance in the Premier League. There are clubs interested in him so anything is possible at the moment.
Clubs from abroad have made bids for him but so far no English clubs have.”
While Blackburn stand some chance of signing Cisse, they seem to have none with AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 striker Mirko Vucinic.
The 27-year-old is not willing to consider Blackburn as a possible destination in the summer because he wants to make a move to a more prestigious side, according to his agent.
His agent confirmed in an interview:
“Blackburn talk is just a rumour. It is a respectable club but I think Mirko deserves a more prestigious club."
However, he did admit the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Montenegro-c2959 international, who had two years remaining on his existing contract, could end up at Serie A rivals Juventus.
He continued:
“I met with Juve, but also for other players. To date there have been no negotiations. Juve are a prestigious club, like Roma.”
