Blackburn Rovers defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christopher-Samba-c9212 has handed in a transfer request after claims by manager Steve Kean that he was not for sale in the January transfer window.
The Scottish manager claimed in an interview yesterday that he had no intention of selling Samba in the winter transfer window as he considered the defender to be part of his long term plans. However, after the central defenders statement, it seems Samba’s
stay at Ewood Park could be coming to an end.
The 27-year-old was initially linked with a move away in the summer transfer window, but Kean managed to convince Samba to stay with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385. This time around though, Samba does not want to be convinced and has handed in a transfer request.
Samba said in an interview:
“I have today officially requested a transfer from Blackburn Rovers Football Club. I have personally informed the owners, manager and executives at the club that I want to leave in this transfer window.
In my five years at Blackburn Rovers Football Club I have always given 100 per cent in every game I have played. I have had several opportunities to leave but I have always stayed.
I have decided now is the right time for me to pursue a new challenge and I have asked the club to respect my decision and allow me to leave.
I thank the fans for their support and I hope they feel I have served them and their club well.”
With the Blackburn Rovers struggling in the Premier League this season, Samba does not wish to continue on with them. He revealed he had already informed the management at the club that he wished to part ways with the club in the current transfer window.
He believed it was time for him to search for a fresh challenge, after being with Blackburn Rovers for five years. Samba admitted that while he was grateful to the fans for their endless support, he was certain there was no future for him at Ewood Park.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Congo-c2875 international urged the club to respect his decision and let him leave.
