Blackburn Rovers interested in Ronaldinho, David Beckham: Anuradha Desai
The Indian business group Venky’s only took over at Blackburn Rovers Football Club a couple of months ago but since then they have made sure that the club remains in the headlines for one reason or the other.
First it was the sacking of Sam Allardyce in controversial circumstances and now they have once again jolted everyone by confirming that they have made a bid for the former World and European Player of the Year, AC Milan and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858’s star midfielder Ronaldinho.
It is reported that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 have made an offer believed to be in the region of 20 million pounds over 3 years.
Initially, the reports were denied by the group but today the chairperson of the group, Anuradha Desai confirmed that they have made the official contact with the player’s agent.
Anuradha confirmed that the Brazil office of her group is currently in talks with the 30-year-old’s agent.
Desai also confirmed that the club is also making attempts to sign the former English http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Captain-c8314 and LA Galaxy star David Beckham on a loan deal.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/United-States-c3034 but a loan deal to AC Milan was ruled out by the Italian club.
Beckham had spent his last two off season days with the Italian club but its new manager Massimiliano Allegri is not interested in a loan move this time around.
The MLS season will not resume until the 15th of March which means that the ex-England Captain will be available to represent whichever side he chooses to play in 11 games during that period.
Blackburn Rovers are not the only side that are interested in signing the star. Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has already said that Beckham is keen to join the White Hart Lane outfit and they are the front runners in the race to sign him.
Meanwhile, Ronaldinho is currently in his native Brazil on holidays after leaving his side’s training camp in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033. While the Brazillian side Gremio are keen to snap the midfielder, Blackburn have thrown their hat into the ring.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ronaldinho-c31733 moved from Barcelona to Milan in 2008 but has not been able to emulate the performances that had earned him the World Player of the Year accolade. He has struggled to keep his place in the starting 11 after the club brought in Robinho and Ibrahimovic
last year.
Although, Gremio are the front runners from Brazil but there is no shortage of interest from his homeland with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Palmeiras-c40165 also interested. But, Blackburn have jumped in the tug of war with a 20 million pound offer and are offering very tempting
wages to the player.
"To be precise [it is] 7.6m Euros (£6.5m) for the first year and about 8.5m Euros (£7.2m) for the second and third years," said Anuradha Desai.
The caretaker manager of the club, Steve Kaen, also looks interested and is backing the club owners in their bid to bring in the superstar.
"I know there has been contact made by the owners to representatives of Ronaldinho but I don't know how far down the line it is and whether it will actually happen," he said. "If any Premier League manager was asked if they wanted to sign someone who has
been World Player of the Year twice they would be interested. Everyone should look at it as a positive; it has been a long time since we have been able to do that."
