Blackburn Rovers make official approach for Schalke striker Raul Gonzalez – Bundesliga news
English Premier League side Blackburn Rovers have made an official approach for Schalke striker, Raul Gonzalez. The veteran striker has reportedly been linked with a move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ralf-c30492 Rangnick.
The Rovers manager, Steve Kean, wishes to lure the Spanish legend to Ewood Park before the closure of this year’s summer transfer window.
Schalke officials confirmed about Blackburn’s approach but were unwilling to let the striker leave the country. They mentioned that the club will hold talks with Raul to know about his desire before making any final decision. The former Real Madrid player,

Raul’s current contract with the club is set to expire at the end of the 2011/12 campaign after which the player will be free to move elsewhere.
Schalke Sporting Director Horst Heldt, while talking to a local channel, further added:
"Yesterday [Monday] we had an official request from Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385, which came via email. After that we contacted his agent. We will meet today and talk with Raul and his agent about this. We don't want to let him go, but if he tells us he wants to leave,
we will think about it and go into negotiations. There will be a quick decision in this case - tomorrow at the latest."
