Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean revealed he had been impressed with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Simon-Vukcevic-c33571’s performance on his first full match for the Rovers. The 25-year-old attacking midfielder was amongst the summer arrivals at Ewood Park, and Kean felt the player was in excellent form in the Carling Cup clash against Leyton Orient.
However, the manager admitted there was room for improvement as his side once again secured a narrow 3-2 win over the League One side. In their last English Premier League fixture, Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429.
It must be remembered that this was Vukcevic’s second appearance for the English Premier League club and the playmaker celebrated by scoring the match winning goal against the League One side. While he may have awarded his new club the win in the Carling Cup, Kean was certain the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Montenegro-c2959 international had a long way to go.
Kean said while speaking to reporters:
“I think he showed glimpses.
It shows he wants to take people on and even if he is on the right-hand side he checks on to his left foot, like he did for the goal.”
Kean revealed he had been impressed with the Montenegrin’s performance, which had been consistent throughout the match. He was quick paced and did not shy away from challenges and did well to find the back of the net, a goal that confirmed Blackburn Rovers passage into the next round of the Cup competition.
He continued:
“He has got power and accuracy but what he has to learn is when to bounce it on with one touch and not necessarily have a trick.
He obviously likes back-heelers because he's done about 17 in the last two games.”
Kean admitted Vukcevic was still adapting to the Premier League and had done better against Leyton Orient since they were a League One side. The Rovers boss said he had been observing the player’s style of play and had noticed his attempt at back-heels and tricks on the ball.
Kean revealed:
“He is just adapting to the pace of the country and not only the way not only Premier League teams but lower league teams come in and get in your face and you have to do things quickly.”
