Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 manager Steve Kean insists he is on excellent terms with the club owners
Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean insisted he was not worried about being sacked after it emerged that supporters of the club had written to the owners, Venky’s, asking them to consider replacing Kean. The letter comes after Kean’s side failed to win even
a single point from their opening three games. The Rovers are currently at the bottom of the Premier League table with zero points.
Blackburn Rovers had an acceptable pre-season, winning two fixture and losing two. However, they failed to carry that forward to the new season, losing all their fixtures so far. They did manage a win in the Carling Cup clash against Sheffield Wednesday,
but that has not been enough to satisfy the fans. Kean insisted he was not worried as they prepare to travel to Fulham for their next fixture.
Kean, who claims to have a great relationship with the club owners, admitted he understood the fans frustration at the disappointing start. However, he urged them to be patient as the club’s new signings would take some time to settle down. Kean felt that
once the new arrivals had adjusted, they would go on to make a difference for the team and help them recover from their poor form.
Kean said while speaking to reporters:
“It doesn't make me feel bad at all; I have a great relationship with the owners.
I can understand the fans' frustration that we don't have a point on the board right now but I think it's a minority of the fans and we share that frustration that we have not got points.”
Blackburn Rovers were amongst the lucky sides who escaped relegation last season and Kean vowed his side would finish higher this season. Kean said he was taking one game at a time and was currently focusing on the trip to Craven Cottage to face Fulham on
Sunday and was hopeful his side would put up a decent display, as they had done against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 before the international break.
He continued:
“I think we now have a stronger squad than we had last year. If we can start getting points on the board - and quickly - then the top half is certainly achievable.”
Kean has been in touch with the owners regarding matters of the club and insisted his recent meeting was not a “crisis meeting”. According to the Blackburn Rovers manager, he held meetings with the owners at least once a month and it was no cause for alarm.
He revealed he had been in touch with the club owners throughout the summer transfer window, which had led to the arrival of the new players.
Kean revealed:
“It's not a crisis meeting. They are very happy. I go once a month, we sit down have a lot of conversations and the communication side between myself and the owners is excellent.”
