Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean playing mind games ahead of West Ham United clash – EPL news
Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean has started to play mind games with West Ham United boss Avram Grant ahead of the crucial Premier League meeting between the two teams on Saturday.
Kean has warned the Hammers manager against utilising injured midfielder Scott Parker for the match.
Scott Parker has been struggling with an Achilles problem for the past few weeks, but the midfielder is refusing to spend time on the sidelines. Parker has revealed that he is desperate to help West Ham in their battle against relegation, and there were
reports that he will feature for the Hammers in their vital encounter against Blackburn at Upton Park on May 7, 2011.
Parker has been one of West Ham’s most influential players in the ongoing 2010-11 season. The team looks devoid of ideas whenever he is not on the pitch, and with just three games of the season left to play, the club needs all the help it can get to avoid
the drop this season.
Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 are also far from safe at this point in the campaign. Manager Steve Kean knows that his side needs a result at Upton Park to allay fears of relegation, and he is aware that his job will be made much easy if Scott Parker does not make an
appearance in the contest.
Kean has tried to talk Hammers boss Avram Grant out of using Parker on May 7, saying, “It depends how fit he (Scott Parker) is. Sometimes if a player is not 100% fit and all of a sudden has to go off that can have a psychological effect on the rest of the
team. If he starts and he's not quite right and you have to take him off after 10 minutes then people can say 'oh no, the potential talisman is not on the pitch'.”
Should Blackburn Rovers win Saturday’s game, they will take their tally for the season to 41 points which should be enough to ensure their place in next season’s Barclays Premier League campaign.
