Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean pleased with owners Venky’s for keeping promises
Steve Kean, the Blackburn Rovers manager, revealed the clubs owners, Venky’s, had so far kept all the promises they had made since taking over the club last year. The Indian poultry company start their second year with the Premier League club, with the Rovers
in the bottom half of the table.
While Kean successfully managed to avoid relegation last season, Blackburn Rovers may not be that lucky this time around. Having drawn their weekend fixture with Wigan Athletic 3-3, Kean has come under further pressure to improve results as the January transfer
window draws close.
Most of the fans have blamed the manager for the recent poor form and have called for his removal, with a section of fans displaying “Kean Out” banners during games. However, Kean felt his side had bad luck and with the owner’s help and support, he could
turn their season around.
Kean said while speaking to reporters:
“Anything I have ever asked for in any transfer window has always been delivered. I think when we are trying to build a young team maybe you are not going to pick up as many points as a more, senior older team but I think we are improving and the owners
know that as well.”
So far, according to Kean, Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 had kept all the promises they had made to him. From focusing on building a young team, to allotting a certain budget to Kean, Venky’s have so far done everything they said they would to help Kean.
He continued:
“Any promises they made to me as far as allowing budget, any time I have asked for a player to be re-signed or if I wanted any backing in bringing a player to the club - none more so than http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Scott-Dann-c32662 on deadline day for a sizeable amount of money - that
has been delivered.”
So far so, Venky’s also promised Kean his position at the club was secure, despite the poor results. The Scotsman could be banking on this promise to ensure he has a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 by the end of the season, since many other owners would not have put up with such poor
performances.
