Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean urged his players to step up as he deals with injury problems for the upcoming fixtures. The Rovers will be without some key players when they host Manchester City at Ewood Park this weekend.
Having already had a poor start to the season, Blackburn Rovers will not want to lose in front of the home support even if the club they’re facing is none other than Manchester City. Their 3-1 defeat against Newcastle United has left them with various players
unavailable for the weekend clash.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ryan-Nelsen-c31992 is also sidelined with a knee problem, which he
will be unable to recover from in time for the match.
The Scottish manager revealed he was disappointed with the long list of players unavailable because of injuries, especially the ones sustained during the Magpies clash. Kean felt Newcastle United were unpunished for the injuries they had caused last week.
Kean said in an interview:
“There are a lot of injuries from one game and you can take that if you get something from the game, but not to get anything from it is tough.
We will get back on the training ground, prepare ourselves in the right way, see what bodies we can get and we will go again.”
However, Kean will be somewhat consoled by the fact that he will have http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 Goodwillie all return this weekend. The trio were out with various injuries, but seem to have made considerable progress over the past few days.
In addition to their return, the last minute spending by Kean in the summer transfer window has ensured some back-up in case of injuries and suspensions. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jason-Roberts-c17973 are more players Kean will have at
his disposal against Manchester City.
Kean continued:
“Some of the players who perhaps haven't had much of a run this season could get their chance. Obviously if the injuries tot up then the lads that have the opportunity have to grab that.”
