Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christopher-Samba-c9212 would remain at the club despite being linked with various other clubs during the summer transfer window. The 32-year-old Australian revealed he felt the defender had come to
be an important player for the club and his departure would affect the club in the upcoming season.
Samba has been a target for London sides http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and Tottenham Hotspur, both of who are looking to strengthen their squad in the current transfer window. The 27-year-old Congolese defender also hinted at a Ewood Park exit, but later denied the rumours claiming
he was looking to leave the club in favour of a bigger side.
Emerton, who has been with Blackburn Rovers since 2003, revealed he was hopeful Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean managed to convince Samba to remain at the club. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Australia-c746 international said he was certain the club would do everything they could to
try and get Samba to remain with the club for the new season, which kicks off this weekend.
Emerton said while speaking to reporters:
“It's very important (Samba stays). He's an important part of our team and I think the club will do everything they can to make sure he stays. I for one hope he does.”
The midfielder c*m winger admitted the pre-season training and matches had benefitted all the players, who were now fit for the Premier League clash over the weekend. Blackburn Rovers will take on Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday and Emerton was hopeful
his side’s decent record against them would carry forward into the new season.
Emerton continued:
“It's been a good pre-season so far and everyone's managed to stay fit and healthy. We should have a fully-fit squad to pick from.

Samba is currently sidelined with an injury and will most likely miss the fixture against Wolves over the weekend. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Congo-c2875 international picked up a groin injury during training, the extent of which will be revealed after further scans by the medical team.
However, it is highly unlikely Samba can fully recover in time for the opening fixture of the Premier League.
