Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 midfielder David Dunn has urged the English Premier League side’s supporters to lower their expectations. The fans are reportedly unhappy with the running of the club and the poor start to the season and have been calling for the removal
of manager Steve Kean.
A section of fans were seen protesting outside Ewood Park a few weeks ago before the Rovers were set to take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429. The narrow 4-3 win over the Gunners subdued the protestors for the time being, but they have emerged again after a drop in form.
The recent 4-0 loss to Manchester City at home saw the re-emergence of the “Kean Out” posters and banners, with the supporters seeming more determined than ever to get rid of Kean. With the Premier League club having flown to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/India-c750 during the international
break, Dunn was keen to try and tackle the disgruntled fans.
The 31-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 midfielder felt the fans had not been very helpful through the difficult time and could do better to support the team. He said the supporters had to have more realistic aims for the team as they try and climb out of the relegation
zone.
Dunn said while speaking to reporters:
“Let's be a little bit more realistic. Of course we want to beat Manchester City, Manchester United and the top teams.
But at times it is very difficult, certainly with the gulf that seems to be appearing in the Premier League. Of course we are going to try and compete in every game.”
The former Birmingham City man admitted the fans had the right to show their displeasure by booing the team, but at the same time felt the supporters had gone overboard with their protests. In addition to the demonstrations taking their strain on Kean, Dunn
revealed the players were also adversely affected by the displays.
He continued:
“It is very difficult for the players to see what we saw on Saturday towards him because we know how hard he works. We know how hard he works at the training ground, together with all the staff.
We need to be a little bit patient and I'm sure that things will turn around.”
