Blackburn Rovers midfielder Herold Goulon on trial with Championship side Doncaster

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Herold Goulon is currently on trial with Championship side Doncaster Rovers FC after the Premier League outfit gave him permission to talk to other clubs. The 23-year-old former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 under-21 international could be leaving Ewood
Park in the upcoming transfer window after manager Steve Kean made it clear that he no longer required the midfielder’s services.
Goulon joined Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 in October of 2010 after seeing out his contract with French side Le Mans at the end of the 2009-2010 season. After just four appearances in the Premier League for the Rovers, the player was told he was free to consider a move
elsewhere after a change in management. Since then the Frenchman has been on trial with various clubs before he can decide where he wants to move in the January transfer window.
Dean Saunders, the Doncaster manager, confirmed the Blackburn Rovers midfielder was currently training with his side. With the Premier League side having given the player permission to try out other clubs, Goulon arrives at the Championship side after having
had a trial with German outfit Koln. The manager revealed he was hoping the midfielder decided to stay with his side and help them improve.
Saunders said while speaking to reporters:
“He played in the reserve game last week and he's coming in for a week's training.
Blackburn have given him permission to come and train with us and, if I think that he is better than what we've got, I'll try and do something about it.”
Goulon is not the first player on loan at Doncaster, with other players having previously tried out with the Championship side. So far Saunders had not had too much luck trying to convince players to stay, but is hoping Goulon is different. The player has
already featured for Doncaster in a reserve game and has a week of scheduled training with the club.
He continued:
“In the situation we are in, we've got to try and persuade players that if they play for Doncaster they are in the shop window.
If they want to play in the Premiership it's no use not playing wherever they are, they may as well come and play for us and, if we are lucky, they might stay.”
