The statement on the club’s official website read:
“We understand that there is a sense of disappointment and anger amongst our fans at the recent performance of our team Blackburn Rovers, which was not up to the expectations of the fans.
We fully understand your feelings and share your disappointment.”
While the owners acknowledged the fact that the club had a very poor start to the season, they did not mention the action they were planning to take. They claimed to understand the disappointment and anger over the poor form the team had been and admitted
that it fell short of expectations. However, there was no mention of Kean or a consideration of his position.
It continued:
“At times like this, when the team is going through a bad patch, they need all the support and encouragement they can get from the fans to boost their morale and enable them to perform at their best.”
They continued on by urging the fans to support the team in their fixture against Arsenal on Saturday, which would be taking place in front of the home crowd at Ewood Park. According to the Venky’s statement, recovery from the “bad patch” could be achieved
by the encouragement of the supporters, which was bound to boost morale and enhance the team’s confidence.
It concluded:
