Blackburn Rovers have been struggling this season and Yakubu, who joined in the summer from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043, had the opportunity to abandon what some may call the sinking ship, but he decided to stay on. He revealed he had no intention of leaving Steve Kean and
his men any time soon.
Yakubu said while speaking to reporters:
“I know QPR want me, but I'd made up my mind I'm not going there so I told them. I want to achieve things here, like keeping the club in the Premier League.”
Yakubu admitted he was aware of the interest Queens Park Rangers had displayed in him during the winter transfer window, but that he preferred to remain at Ewood Park. He also revealed he was hoping to achieve great things with the struggling Premier League
side.
It seemed Blackburn Rovers emerged at the top when they took on Queens Park Rangers in the English Premier League last weekend. Kean’s men defeated the visitor’s 3-2 and took away all three crucial points which could save them from the drop zone come end
of the season.
According to Yakubu he had received great support from the fans at Ewood Park because of which he could not imagine turning his back on them. He believed his place was at Blackburn Rovers and since his family were currently happy with the arrangements, he
had no intention of changing anything unless it was absolutely necessary.
The Nigerian striker revealed:
“The fans and players have been good for me. You don't turn your back on that.
I didn't want to come here for a few months and then leave again. My family and I are happy here.”
