Blackburn Rovers to make signings in the summer, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robbie-Keane-c31215 linked with a move to Ewood Park
Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429. Their lack of activity in the transfer window has caused alarm, with the new season
approaching fast.
Jones, the 19-year-old defender and make-shift defensive midfielder was bought for an inflated price of £20 million. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 under-21 international became the first player to leave Ewood Park, with Samba looking to be a close second.
The Blackburn owners’, Venkys, chair-person Anuradha Desai however, assured the supporters that the Rovers would be bringing in new signings in the summer transfer window. Desai said while speaking to reporters:
“We are in search of some good strikers and defenders and that will be finalised in the next two weeks.
We are not running behind big names. Our selection would be a proper mix of young talent and senior players.”
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Benjani-Mwaruwari-c7508, the 32-year-old Zimbabwean striker, ran out of contract with Blackburn at the end of last season, but is considering returning for another season. The former Portsmouth forward joined Blackburn in the 2010-2011 season from Manchester City.
While at Ewood Park, Mwaruwari made 18 appearances in the Premier League and found the back of the net three times. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zimbabwe-c3045 international is close to his retirement but could be tempted to feature for the Rovers in the Premier League or another
season.
Another striker linked with joining Blackburn in the summer is 30-year-old Tottenham Hotspur forward Robbie Keane. After leaving the Spurs in 2008 Keane has not been out of form, he made a move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 but returned back to White Hart Lane in 2009.
Since then he has been on loan to Celtic and West Ham United, but is reportedly looking to make a permanent move away. A move to Blackburn Rovers could prove to be just what he wants, regular football in the Premier League.
Blackburn Rovers are so far amongst the few Premier League sides who have not yet made any signings in the summer transfer window. However, they will have some cash available after the departure of Phil Jones and Samba and having already been linked with
two players, could be welcoming new signings sooner than later.
