Blackburn Rovers to tour India next month, owner’s Venky’s confirm
English Premier League side Blackburn Rovers have confirmed they will be visiting http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 were unable to travel to India after the explosions that took place in Mumbai in July, a few
days before the team was scheduled to fly in.
The blast that took place three months ago killed more than 20 people and injured numerous more. Things seemed to have improved immensely since then, which is why Blackburn Rovers will leave for their tour next month.
They will be following the original schedule, which means they will be playing FC Pune in a friendly fixture to start off with. The Premier League side will not have to worry about their trip interfering with the scheduled fixtures since they will be travelling
during the international break.
Blackburn Rovers will become the first ever Premier League side to travel to India on an official tour, with the date set to be on 7th October. That means the Rovers will leave a week after their fixture against Manchester City, returning some

The trip to India has mostly come about because of Blackburn Rovers Indian owners, Venky’s, who have arranged the official tour. Balaji Rao, the Venky’s director, revealed that the company’s biggest priority was the safety of the players, which they would
ensure.
Rao said:
“Security is paramount but so is our commitment to bringing Blackburn Rovers to India.
And perhaps the visit now could not have been better timed.”
Rao revealed that the players were in terrific spirits after their win over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 at Ewood Park, and they were keen to share it with the Indian supporters. Blackburn Rovers secured a narrow 4-3 win over the Gunners, their first win of the new Premier League
season.
He continued:
“The club is riding on a high after its big win over Arsenal, and the players are eager to share the glory with their Indian fans.”
