Blackburn Rovers vs. Tottenham Hotspur – Second Half Report (Part 1)
The second half kicked off with Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 resuming their offensive approach from the end of the first 45 minutes. In the 47th minute of the match, Michel Salgado was brought down by Benoit Assou-Ekotto through
a late challenge which took place right at the edge of the Blackburn penalty area. The referee spotted the infringement and pointed towards a Blackburn free kick. The eventual set piece, which was taken by David Dunne, flew out of play for a Tottenham goal
kick as Dunne had put too much pace on the free kick.
Tottenham immediately responded with an attack of their own as in the 49th

then went on to cement themselves in the match through their dominance in the centre of the park. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jermaine-Jenas-c18362 and Van Der Vaart ran the show against Dunne and Jones in the centre of Blackburn’s midfield area.
In the 53rd minute of the match, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vedran-Corluka-c35947 was booked by the referee for tugging at Jason Roberts’ shirt near the half way line as the striker was racing towards the Tottenham goal. Corluka’s foul left the home

In the 57th minute of the match, Tottenham embarked on a terrific counter attack. Lennon carried the ball up field after stealing it off Dunne in the midfield area. The winger found Defoe with a well-timed pass, but
the striker’s final finish was smothered by Paul Robinson. In the 60th minute of the match, trouble brewed for Blackburn as Tottenham rushed forward yet again; this time Rafael Van Der Vaart’s pass was intercepted by Jones, who cleared the ball
away and gave possession back to Harry Redknapp’s team.
Lennon benefitted from this weak play by Blackburn as he almost doubled Tottenham’s lead. The winger successfully whizzed past Michel Salgado and then unleashed a brilliant shot on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-c29347 Robinson’s goal, but the Blackburn goalkeeper
showcased superb reflexes to palm the ball away. In the 63rd minute of the match, Blackburn were forced into making their first substitution of the match as Jones made way for Steven N’Zonzi following a back injury to the young midfielder.
