Steve Kean confirmed the retention news to the local media, saying Samba is close to agreeing on a deal with the team that recently parted ways with Sam Allardyce. Blackburn have also undergone a massive ownership change lately as Indian dairy company Venky’s
acquired a major stake in the club.
The club’s new owners are working towards bringing about a change in ideology at the club as they want Blackburn to turn into a marketable football brand. In the January transfer window, Blackburn earlier made an approach for Brazilian attacking midfielder

Blackburn also showcased tremendous interest in wrestling http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Bentley-c10435 from Tottenham
Hotspurs and he is expected to add another dimension to their attack with his wing play down the right hand side of the attack.
Blackburn’s manager confirmed the news of Samba’s new contract, "We are close to agreeing with Chris Samba. It would be a great signing because for us to get the team captain [Samba], as well as the club captain [Nelsen] and someone like Michel Salgado on
board, is fantastic. We had a few enquiries that we tried to put away for Chris and we tried to convince him this was the place to be. It’s very, very close."
Blackburn are scheduled to play their next league encounter against Tottenham Hotspurs on 2 February. Samba is a favorite to start at his usual centre-back position in the matchup, as Blackburn will be hoping to consolidate their current 8th place in the
English Premier League.
