Now in the new season, Kean is looking to build on last term’s performance and has targeted Simon Vukcevic as someone who can immediately make an impact at Ewood Park upon his arrival.
The 25-year-old has primarily played as an attacking midfielder for Sporting Lisbon and has shown that he can not only influence proceedings but also possesses the necessary qualities to get on the score sheet regularly.
Vukcevic is expected to formally complete his $2.2 million move to the Riversiders in upcoming days and has already thrilled Steve Kean with his attacking prowess and lightning-quick speed.
"He is an exciting player and also can play on both flanks. He is good technically and is very focused.” The manager was quoted as saying.
The former Coventry City coach also said that with the acquisition of the midfielder, Blackburn would not only be able to add more quality to the squad but it would also allow them to play better football.
Blackburn Rovers currently lie in the bottom three and are without a point from their opening two clashes, making it a tough road until the conclusion of the season ahead.
