Blackburn manager Steve Kean confirms interest in Ruud Van Nistelrooy – Premier League news
Blackburn Rovers manager, Steve Kean, has confirmed his interest in signing Hamburg striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ruud-van-Nistelrooy-c31966, in the summer transfer window. Former Rover’s manager, Sam Allardyce, also planned to scoop up the former Real Madrid striker in 2009 but the
deal could not go through, as the club failed to meet the player’s wage demands.
Kean is hopeful that the new owners will overcome any hurdle in the deal and will make sure that they get their man to fight for a place in European competitions. "Yes, I can confirm we are interested," Kean said in an interview.
Van Nistelrooy’s contract with Hamburg expires this summer and the player has himself started his desire to return to the Premier League.
He told the a British newspaper, "I am thinking about a nice club in England after this season, or a club in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011, but I don't think Real Madrid will come again after their efforts to bring me back in the January transfer window. I have decided that if
a really big European club does approach me, I will accept a role as reserve striker.  I would have accepted that too if the deal with Real Madrid had come off in January. They knew I was ready to step in when needed."
The Dutch international striker enjoyed a wonderful five years with Manchester United in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 before moving to Real Madrid. The 34-year-old made 219 appearances for the Red Devils and scored amazing 150 goals for the club. He helped United win the 2002-3
Premier League title and was a very influential figure behind their success. The Dutch man had a training ground bust up with the manager Sir Alex Ferguson which eventually led to his sale to Madrid.
After spending four years with Madrid, Van Nistelrooy moved to Hamburg in 2010. Madrid came back to inquire about his services in January 2011 but Hamburg blocked the move because they also had striker crisis at their club.
His Real Madrid friend Michel Salgado, who also joined the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 last year, will play a big part in persuading Van Nistelrooy to join the club.
