Blackhawks thump Nashville Predators 4-1
Goalkeeper Corey Crawford pulled off 24 saves and Jack Skille bagged two goals, as the Chicago Blackhawks beat the Nashville Predators 4-1 at the United Centre.
After a decent start to the match by the Nashville Predators, the home team was able to dominate much of the opening period with their strong passing and shooting. Not only was there individual brilliance during the period, but the Hawks combined well together
to form a formidable unit.
The away side gave the Hawks a scare at the start with a few shots on goal, but it was the home team who scored the only goal of the period, and the first of the match. The goal was scored by Dave Bolland from a spectacular flick shot in the 13th minute.
Both teams had several chances after this, but they couldn’t score. The period ended with the Chicago Blackhawks leading 1-0. During the 20 minutes of play, Chicago made 13 goal attempts, while the Nashville Predators had nine goal attempts.
The second period was no different from the first. The Predators made a great start once again, but failed to capitalise. It was almost certain that they would score in the fifth minute, as they 6 on 2 against the defence, but the shot went just wide off
the goal.
However, the home team was determined to take any chance that came their way. They worked hard and combined well together to put together some flowing attacking moves. The Hawks were rewarded for this, as they doubled their lead with a goal in the 10th minute.
The goal was scored by Jack Skille.
After the goal both teams again had several chances to score, could take advantage. The period ended with the Hawks leading 2-0. Chicago made 11 goal attempts during the second period, while the Nashville Predators had 13 goal attempts.
The final period saw the Hawks starting as the stronger of the two teams. They successfully scored in the 10th minute through Jack Skille, who bagged his second goal of the night. The Nashville Predators also scored in
the 12th minute through Sergei Kostitsyn, but that was just a consolation.
The Blackhawks wrapped up the match with another goal in the 18th minute. The goal was scored by Bryan Bickell, who also scored his second goal of the night as the Hawks won 4-1. Jack Skille was named the star player of
the match, with Dave Bolland following in second for the Chicago Blackhawks.
