Blackjack at the casinos ???

Why can't I touch the cards when playing blackjack in a casino?

The casinos don't want people marking or bending the cards in order to cheat.

If you play single blackjack out in Vegas, they do let you hold the cards. They deal the hands facedown to make card-counting so you have to pick up your hand and look at it.

Most don't want you touching them as security precaution. With all the cheats out there, always looking to swindle the house out of some big bucks, it's an appropriate measure. Besides, you really don't need to touch them as they're dealt face up for everyone.

in the minds of the casinoes they are trying to take all precautions to prevent cheating. there are many people that try to do this for their cheating purposes by marking the cards so that when they see them in the deck they know what cards are coming... hope this helps

Well apart from the fact there isnt actually a need... it is to proctect against people marking them so the can identify the cards later and cheat.
