  1. Blackberry pearl is mainly a business communication device with some multimedia features. That is RIM's strength (company selling blackberry service). Earlier even mp3 player was not there in top of the line blackberry but nowdays thay have started giving camara n all that stuff in blackberry. So any day blackjack II is better option as compared to blackberry pearl as an overall communication and entertainment device.

  2. I just traded my Blackjack II for a BB  Curve 8310.  BJ2 would not sync with ActiveSync software (XP) and everytime I turned it off I lost my bluetooth earpiece.  The screen is not very bright,. Menu system of Windows 6 very layered--drill down through menu after menu to find what you want.  BJ2 doesn't come with much software. Contacts did not allow much information per person.  I didn't like the scroll wheel,.   no "feel" to it.  Uses propriety socket for power / data.Sound volume is low.   Red color has great "tacky" feel and looks.  Has great button spacing, easier to type accurately.  W/o a way to sync and no bluetooth, it was just a regular phone to me.

BBC on the other hand easily syncs and hasn't lost my bluethooth earpiece.  The screen is the same size as BJ2 and it is much brighter and easier to read (you can change the font and font size).   Trackball works great, much like trackball mouse.  Lots of applications, much less drilling down to get to them.  BBC more curved at edges,  fits hand well, but more slippery than red BJ2.  BBC has much better signal strength in fringe areas.  BBC used mini-usb port for power / data, easy to find cables.  Both have good fit and finish, but BBC seems more integrated, smooth, works great with its applications. Included is a leather pocket to slide your BBC into, BJ2 comes with nothing.  I would not go back.  Check-out the phones in your hand and wherever you plan to carry it (me-pocket, so overall size did matter).  Syncs with my Yahoo account / contacts / calendar.
