  1. I'm a dealer, and I'm sure you're meaning "doubling down", meaning matching your original bet and taking one card only off your first two cards.  As well as the 9 through 11 scenario that you used as an example to double on, there are many times with "soft hands" (meaning an ace and a small card) that doubling would be to your advantage as well.  There are too many combinations to get into here and I suggest your best bet is to simply go to a casino gift shop and invest a couple of bucks in a "basic strategy card" which gives you the mathematical odds of when you should split or double down.  Also just google "blackjack basic strategy" or go to "wizards of odds" website and they will provide what you are looking for.

    Good luck!

  2. I think the term you are looking for is double down...not double hitting.  Twice the bet for one and only one card.

  3. Im going to go out on a limb and assume you mean "Double down" as it is common to do that on totals of 9-11.

There are many ideal times to double down, and there will be more or less and even slightly different times to double based on the rules of the particular blackjack game.

To answer your question, I will list every hand you shoudl double down on.

Listed as Your total vs the dealers showing card

    9 vs 3,4,5 and 6

    10vs 2,3,4,5,6,7,8, and 9

    11vs 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, and 10 (or J,Q,K)

    A2 vs  5 and 6

    A3 vs 5 and 6

    A4 vs 4, 5, and 6

    A5 vs 4, 5 and 6

    A6 vs 3, 4, 5, and 6

    A7 vs 3, 4, 5, and 6

A8 vs 6 (only if the dealer hits a soft 17)

In some games where the dealer does not check for blackjacks untill after everybody has doubled split et, you shoudl not double down against a ten or ace.

***It is important to take advantage of these double down oportunities to not fall victim to the potentially large house advantage of blackjack resulting form the dealer acting first,  With proper playing strategy the hosue edge can be reduces very far often to around only 0.4%, but if you fail to take advantage of doublign and splitting oportunities, the hosue edge will approach 7% or more depending on how foolishly you play your hands

  4. i dont think u  understand a few things. Double hitting doesnt exist. U can hit twice however.

HERES THE DEAL IF DEALER HAS2 THROUGH 6 AND U HAVE 88 for a total of 16 u would want to split them this now gives u two  different hands.  so your first hand is and 8 and u get the next card for that hand if its a 2 or a 3 u hit again otherwise u shouldnt. then u start your second hand with t he same process.

To make this easier always figure on the dealers   down card as a 10. There are more tens in the deck than any other card.    If the dealer is showing a 6 u figure them for 16 they have to hit no matter what. U also always figure the next hit card is a ten so if u have 12 and the dealer  is showing a 6 basic strategy tells u not to hit.. try to let the dealer bust.

this doesnt always work but it is basic strategy

  5. Do you mean that you want to split your cards?

In this case you can hit for each on of the splitted cards.

Goolge the web site wizard of odds to get the basic strategy for blackjack (which tells you when to hit or stand based on the dealer's cards)

  6. I'm not sure what double hitting is. I think you mean doubling down. Depending on the dealer's upcard, you can double on soft hands (an ace and another card), like 13-17. Some say double on soft 18 as well, but I don't. Google blackjack basic strategy and it should tell you. I don't remember all of the rules anymore.
