Blackpool FC manager Ian Holloway wants to learn from the master Jose Mourinho
Blackpool FC manager Ian Holloway has disclosed that he is willing to get few lessons from Real Madrid counterpart Jose Mourinho in exchange for tickets of El Clasico.
Holloway has gained the reputation of been an unusual figure in Blackpool. However, because of Blackpool’s excellent start of the season, fans have started to draw comparisons with Mourinho. They refer to him as ‘Ollie Mourinho’.
Like the Portuguese, he is also outspoken and his post match interviews are always very interesting, to say the least.  As people have been comparing him with Mourinho, Holloway has admitted that he would love to learn from Mourinho
if he is given the chance. Nonetheless, the 47-year-old has made his priority to get the tickets for the La Liga top of the table clash between Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Blackpool caption Charlie Adam also inquired from the manager if they can go and watch El Clasico, but the Englishman smiled and said that he may go if he can get hold of the tickets and see if he can manage one for the boss as
well.
Holloway said, "I am fascinated by the way his (Mourinho) teams seem to improve wherever he has gone, how quickly he has done it. I would love to learn and if I can make any kind of contact I will. There are lots of people I am
trying to learn from.''
He added, “"It started with Barcelona and Johan Cruyff and his way of playing. I think the whole of Spain embraced that. We are getting it all wrong. It is the secret we should learn. I want my lads to be students of the game.”
The Tangerines’ season has been affected by their inability to hold on to the lead. On Saturday, they were guilty of throwing away a 2-0 lead to Bolton Wanderers at Reebok Stadium. Two goals from Ian Evatt and Luke Varney put the
away team in the winning position only to be rescued by Wanderers midfielders Martin Petrov and Mark Davies.
The Seasiders boss also praised his team for their good performance, but at the same time gave his defenders a bit of an advice. Holloway told his defenders that they should organize defence if something goes wrong. At the time
when they were leading 2-0, instead of securing the match they went forward to find the 3rd goal because of which they conceded a goal. He maintains that his criticism might be hard on them because of the fact that he is enjoying their stay in the
Premier League and has enjoyed every second of it.
Blackpool plays top of the League Manchester United on 4th December, then away at Stoke on 11th and then hosts Tottenham Hotspur on 18th December. Looking at their upcoming fixtures it is important
they keep their faith. They are currently 5 points above relegation zone, with 19 points. They must keep winning games if they want to keep their place in the Premier League.
