Blackpool manager Ian Holloway commits long-term future with the Seasiders – EPL news
Blackpool manager Holloway has dismissed media speculations linking him with a move away from Bloomfield Road to West Ham United and insisted that he will remain with the club even after the ongoing 2010-11 season ends.
Ever since the inspirational Holloway overtook the Blackpool managerial role from the club’s former caretaker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tony-c35440 Parkes on May 21, 2009, the Seasiders seem to have evolved into an altogether different team who have reignited the spirit of performing well.
It was none other than Holloway who helped Blackpool in earning them their first-ever English Premier League status in May 2010 through Championship play-offs.
The 48-year-old Tangerines boss, Holloway has confessed that he made a mistake when he left Plymouth Argyle in 2007 for a disastrous spell at Leicester City. Holloway while claiming that he will never ever make the same mistake again said, “I had a contract
at Plymouth, I walked out on it and I will never do that again.”
The Blackpool boss believes that his future at Bloomfield Road will be decided by the club chairman, Karl Oyston. He said, “I've got a great relationship with my chairman, who will choose when I'm not here anymore. I've got a contract here for this year
and next year and I'm delighted and very proud to be a very small part of a magnificent football club. This is an amazing club with an amazing history, and I like to feel that I have added to that.”
Club chairman Oyston and Holloway enjoy an extremely good relationship with each other. Despite Blackpool’s poor position in the current English Premier League season which saw them lose 12 games out of 18 in 2011, the chairman has vowed many times that
he is more than happy with the club performance and even if the Seasiders fail to retain the top flight status for the next season, it will not change his next season plans.
Blackpool are placed 17th on the League table and only find themselves out of the relegation zone because of good goal difference than Wigan Athletic.
Oyston while showing his firm faith on his manager Holloway said, “Whatever happens, we've had a fantastic season. I certainly hope Ian will be manager next season. And, unless he's told you different, he will definitely be the manager here next season.”
According to the latest media reports, West Ham United have seemingly started to find the replacement for their current manager Avram Grant, who might depart at the end of this season.
Ian Holloway is among the list of eight probables whom West Ham United want to replace with their departing manager. The other seven probable names who could replace Grant are http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006 Hughton, Owen Coyle, Neil Warnock, Martin O’Neill, Slaven
Bilic and Malky Mackay.
