  1. I'd say Rhyl was the better bet.

Blackpool is full of drunken chavs and other unsavoury characters.  Not to mention peasantry.

  2. Sorry for the caps BUT RHYL IS A DRUGGIES DEN!! Seriously. I was placed there by Shelter once, and the streets are literally littered with used works. I am NOT KIDDING!!

Mind you, Rhyl is a dump, full stop. I had jewellery stolen from my room at the hotel where Shelter accommodated me.

  3. Following on from Cassyann's answer, I'd say Llandudno would be great for a 5 year old - although not too wonderful for teenagers. There is a lot to do in Blackpool, but most of the good stuff is aimed at 10 year's old plus. I'm not sure many pre-school children are entertained by 'Snogathons', lots of stalls selling chocolate s*x aids and an incredible number of tatoo parlours. Most of the rides at the Pleasure Beach won't take 5 year olds. The best show this year is 'Forbidden', which is brilliantly done but involves a heavy element of burlesque - again not quite a 5 year olds' cup of whatever 5 year olds drink.

Llandudno is much more relaxed, and probably cheaper.

  4. Both have lots of things to do. My sister was in Rhyl recently with her four kids and she preferred nearby Llandudno, though she said the children loved the water park. Llandudno has the Great Orme/ pier with activities such as tabogganing. Blackpool also has lots to do (maybe too much for one weekend?) but last time I was there it was over-run with stag and hen parties. There's always the Pleasure Beach and the Tower which were favourites of mine when I was a little girl. If I had to pick one I'd say Blackpool.

  5. DONT GO TO BLACKPOOL ITS MORE OF A STAG AND HEN PLACE, TOOK MY GRANDCHILDREN AND ALL THEY SAW WAS PISSED PEOPLE PUKKING IN THE STREETS

    AWFUL
