Blackpool reject Liverpool's bid for Charlie Adam
Blackpool have rejected Liverpool's bid for midfielder Charlie Adam. The influential player has become the target of many of the biggest clubs in the Premier League since he handed in a written transfer request earlier in the day. Blackpool have rejected
all offers for Adam so far, the latest being the four million pound bid by the Reds.
Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has claimed that he will not stand in the midfielder's way if the right offer comes along. However, he believed that Liverpool's four million pound bid did not seem fitting for a player of Adam's calibre. Holloway rates the
midfielder very highly, going so far as to compare Charlie Adam to former Liverpool playmaker Xabi Alonso.
The enigmatic manager said, "I think they (Liverpool) are mad not to actually buy him (Charlie Adam) off us. I think he could replace http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Xabi-Alonso-c37045, which they have not done yet with the greatest respect. Meireles is a good player but they have not got that
passer. Charlie is the man. If I was Liverpool manager, I would have bought him already as I rate him that highly."
Adam has been spectacular for the Tangerines this season, proving himself to be one of the club's most influential players. The midfielder's contract with Blackpool runs until end of next year, and Ian Holloway says he has no intention of letting Adam leave
unless a club makes a high enough bid for the player's services.
Speaking on Liverpool's bid for Charlie Adam, Holloway said, "I expected it as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 are a massive club, but until they come up with an offer that we are accepting - then there is no story. He (Adam) can't dictate, he has got too long a contract. Four
million is not acceptable to us."
It looks like Ian Holloway is going to play hardball when it comes to Charlie Adam's transfer fee. Let's see what the future holds for Blackpool's midfield maestro. We will find out more on the Charlie Adam transfer saga in the coming weeks.
