Blackpool striker DJ Campbell not afraid of Manchester United - EPL news
Blackpool striker, DJ Campbell, has claimed that he is not nervous at the prospect of facing Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday. The Seasiders’ travel to United’s home turf on the final day of the ongoing 2010/11 season of the Barclays Premier League,
knowing that they need to win to ensure their Premier League survival.
It is a daunting task, especially since no other team has managed to overcome the Red Devils at Old Trafford this season. Blackpool’s continued presence in the Premier League hinges on whether or not the team can force a result at United’s fortress, and
the players are starting to feel the pressure.
However, DJ Campbell is one of the few who has managed to keep his composure in the build up to the decisive encounter. Speaking ahead of the match, the striker said, “I am sure a few of the lads will be nervous, they are only human. But I have been fairly
calm throughout the season, which has stood me in good stead. Hopefully I will be able to nick a goal or two on Sunday and we will be able to do the business as a team."
He added: "The lads will be doing their utmost to get a win. If not, we want at least a point. We will be giving it all we have got to try and stay in this league.”
The Seasiders’ could possibly be helped by the fact that Sir Alex will be resting key players in Sunday’s match to increase his options for the Champions League final against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 on the 28th of May. But Campbell insists that United will
be tough to break down, regardless of team Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 chooses to field.
Campbell continued, “It is going to be hard, no matter what team they put out. They have not lost at home all season, and even if it is the second team or the third team, they are all internationals."
Blackpool are currently in 18th place in the Barclays Premier League standings with 39 points.
