Blackpool’s Ian Holloway furious with claims of a weakened Manchester United – EPL news
Blackpool manager, Ian Holloway, believes that Manchester United boss, Sir Alex Ferguson, will not be fielding a weak squad against his side when the two teams meet at Old Trafford. The Red Devils have already won the Barclays Premier League crown, and Ferguson
has admitted that he will be resting key players in the last match of the domestic campaign to increase the options available to him for the UEFA Champions League final.
However, Sir Alex was quick to add that he is not taking the upcoming encounter against Blackpool lightly. The Scot claimed that his team would go all out to win the match. Even so, the United boss could face a fine if found guilty of fielding an under-strength
team on the final day of the 2010/11 Barclays Premier League campaign.
It is something that Blackpool manager, Ian Holloway, finds hard to believe. Holloway claims that Sir Alex has the right to pick whoever he wants for Sunday’s contest, and he feels that the game’s authorities are questioning the Scot’s motivation to end
the campaign on a strong note.
Speaking on the matter, the Tangerines boss said, “I am so annoyed. Sir Alex Ferguson is a winner. He would never dream of not being interested in winning any match. That man deserves to pick whatever team he wants to pick. No one should question it. Look
at his record. Those people running the game, what planet are they on? They must have beamed down from planet Zarf. They are not in the right world.”
Holloway claims that it is impossible for Manchester United to field a weak team, especially when one considers the talent they have in their 25-man squad. He gave the example of the Champions League semi-final between United and Schalke. Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 had rested
a number of high-profile stars for that encounter, and United still managed to seal a comfortable win on the night.
Blackpool will need at least a win on Sunday to secure their status in the Barclays Premier for another season. The Seasiders are currently in 18th place in the League standings.
