Blackrose Boss stamps his authority in the 460m Bookmakers Standard Dup
The 460 metres Bookmakers Standard Dup Open Race at Henlow was won by, Blackrose Boss, on Thursday, January 19, 2012. He was the favourite to win, so there were no surprises in the end. The victory earned him a cash prize of £150.
Blackrose Boss did not have good memories at Henlow, as he finished fifth in a race here in December, 2011. However, he made up for that, winning at the venue by a comprehensive margin.
The triumphant hound popped out from trap number five, and there seemed to be no match for him, as he displayed very good speed till the end of the race.

He covered the total distance in 28.65 seconds, and was the only greyhound to finish in less than 29 seconds. His starting price was 9 to 4, and the bettors would have earned some easy money because of his performance.
Blackrose Boss was trained by E J Cantillon, and is the son of Droopys Kewell out of Movealong Alice, born in November 2009.
Second place went to Gilbeyhall Jack, who completed the race distance in 29 seconds, after popping out from trap number six.

He was simply unable to match the race winner and had to settle for the runner up position.
The D. B. Whitton trained had a starting price of 7 to 2. He is the son of Gilbeyhall Josh out of Girl with Guitar, born in June 2008.
Daisy Dainty, was the only b***h to take part in the race, managed to finish third. She completed the overall distance in 29.09 seconds, after going in from trap number four, with a staring price of 3/1.
The third placed greyhound was born in August 2008, and is the daughter of Killough Tale out of Jims Havana.
Star Gaze, trained by J. J. Coleman, completed the race in fourth place, clocking a time of 29.16 seconds. He had entered the race from trap number one, and had a starting price of 5 to 2.
Star Gaze is the son of Hallucinate out of Miss Freckles and was born in May 2008.
The final two places were taken by Ullid Cool and Killishin Napper, respectively. The latter of the two was the least favourite with a starting price of 16 to 1.
All in all, this race belonged to Blackrose Boss, who stamped his authority right from the start of the event.
