Blackrose Bullet likely to win Stondon Midi Dup
Blackrose Bullet has the best chance of winning the Stondon Midi Dup at Henlow in England on Thursday, March 15, 2012. The Grade OR flat race has a winning cash prize of £150.
The 550 metres race, scheduled to begin at 21:15 GMT, has attracted six quality greyhounds and their names are: Blackrose Bullet, Brave The Times, Munster Champ, Westmead Ares, Jackdaw Summer and Airforce Tom.
Although Blackrose Bullet has managed to win the confidence of the bookmakers, he will have to work extremely hard in order to live up to their expectations. He has not been in good form over the past few months and victories have dried up for him.
However, E. Cantillon’s trainee is expected to break the shackles today, as he did find some rhythm in his most recent outing at Henlow. He was not the favourite to win that race and was given a starting price of 6 to1.
On the other hand, the remaining participants were given pretty decent odds, as they had been in good form. Despite that, Blackrose Bullet put up a solid effort and managed to secure third place, after a tough fight with the top two runners.
The black dog was quickly away and had a neat run overall. He was up against some quality runners and had to settle for third in the end. Considering that performance, the punters will also be encouraged to place some bets on the favourite hound, who is
the son of College Causeway out of Riverside Trixie and was born in January 2010.
The bettors will also be interested in investing some money on Brave The Times, trained by Derrick Atkins. He has got the winning momentum and will be aiming to secure a hat-trick of victories at Henlow.
The black dog has been in superb form over the past couple of events, thus the bookmakers have awarded him with pretty decent odds. He managed to win his most recent race by a convincing margin of two lengths and will have the confidence of repeating such
a show.
Brave The Times is the son of Head Bound out of Brave Pony and was born in August 2009.
The rest of the runners will not find things easy in this class. Some of them have been doing well in other grades, but it will be a different thing altogether to make an impression at Henlow today.
