Blackrose Eve courageous for the Gold Cup – Heat 2
The second heat of the Gold Cup will see confrontation among Bridge Bandit, Westmead Bertie, Holdem Maldini, Bubbly Jaytee, Blackrose Eve and Swift Freeze. The £100 event will be hosted by Henlow on Thursday, 11th October. The entries are highly versatile with some who have made way from Grade T races, while there are rest who had taken part in a dropped down level the last time that they raced, and there is an entry who did not get bothered with either.
There are quite a few options for the punters to choose from, all have what it takes to make a race challenging.
One of the most interesting entries is the runner-up of the Puppy Cup, Blackrose Eve. The last three races of Royal Impact’s daughter were at the open level, the same level that awaits her tonight.
She stormed past competition in the Romford Puppy Cup – Heat 6 on 17th September, 2012 at Romford over 400 metres. Racing in the colours of the last trap, she was quick to pick up pace, covered as much distance as was possible on the wide end, and then took the reins from the third position settling the race in 24.34 seconds.
The final 2 ½ lengths which were on her side, had her cornering the favourite entry, Kinloch Tiger, in the second position.
The next two races of the E. Cantillon trained turned into second scores, both the races were at Romford.
She qualified as the runner-up in the third semi-final of the Romford Puppy Cup on 21st September, 2012 at Romford. She could finish only next to the best as the most favoured entry of the race, Glanmire Lad, timed the track distance in 24.38 seconds.
The only apparent reason for the failure of the two-year-old can be attributed to the early pace and lead that she remained deprived of.
One of her most important accomplishments was to qualify as the runner-up of the Romford Puppy Cup – Final on 28th September, 2012 over 400 metres. Once again it was the lead that the winner, Glanmire Lad, who monopolised, and defeated Blackrose Eve by two lengths.
The 4 to 1 entry has drawn the fifth trap, and has quite a level of competition to steer against.
