The French midfielder defended his team-mate, following the allegations that the Swede deliberately stamped on Dejan Lovren’s head. The 25-year-old described it as nothing more than a minor incident that took place during the game
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is known for his bad-boy attitude, one that’s frequently talked about by the press. And this time the Swede got himself in further trouble, leading to allegations suggesting the striker intentionally stamped on Dejan Lovren’s head. However,
the Swede’s team-mates, including http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Blaise-Matuidi-c7681 have come to the player’s rescue.
The incident took place during the fixture between Paris Saint-Germain and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 at the Parc des Princes. Ibrahimovic was caught stamping on the head of Les Gones defender, Lovren, while trying to jump over him. The referee missed it out as
it happened, due to which the former AC Milan player wasn’t booked. The striker was however widely criticized for his action by several people, including Lyon President, Jean-Michel Aulas.
The striker still seems to have full support of his team-mates and the club. The club’s technical director, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leonardo-c22056, already stated that the Swedish forward is a victim of false allegations, and called it an accident. And now, Les Parisiens’ team-mate,
Matuidi also voiced out his support for the 31-year-old forward.
The former AS Saint-Etienne player stated that the allegations regarding Ibrahimovic do not surprise him. He said:
“He (http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029) is the player of Ligue this season so, in a way, it’s normal that all eyes would be on him.”
The Frenchman hailed the forward for his talent. The player went on to praise Zlatan for his impressive displays throughout the season for Les Parisiens. The midfielder is also thankful to the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sweden-c3015 international for providing him with the assist that led
him to score the only goal of the game against the Lyon-based club. Matuidi exclaimed:
“He is an exceptional player, always has been. He has been great since he came to us. With him, the slightest incident becomes a big thing.”
The 25-year-old feels disappointed that how such reports are used to overshadow a player’s good performance. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international believes that Ibra has been a victim of too much unwanted attention, one that’s in favour of the Swede.
The Troyes AC academy graduate explained:
“Some people tend to forget the player, his performances and the league, what he brings to it. It’s a shame. Like he said maybe those talking about him are afraid of him and of PSG.”
