Blake Geoffrion thanks everybody for the support after going through skull surgery
Blake Geoffrion, a professional ice hockey player from USA, who plays for Montreal Canadiens in the National Hockey League (NHL), thanked all of his fans, family and the friends for their support as he recovers after the surgery on his skull.
The 24-year-old was cleared to go home and advised by the doctors to have some rest as he spent some days at the hospital. He would also not be playing hockey for a while and it may take some time as he starts hockey again by going in the training sessions.
Geoffrion is in Chicago right now, the place where he normally spends his off season and would be spending some time with his family.
The forward, who plays as a centre had suffered an injury during the American Hockey League (AHL) game in Montreal. His skull was fractured in the collision and he had to go through the surgery because of it.
While thanking all of his fans and the family, he also everybody from the hockey world who prayed for his recovery as he said,
“I want to sincerely thank all fans, friends, family members and everyone from the hockey world for the incredible support I have received”.
Blake’s father, Danny Geoffrion was also very happy to see his son recovering so fast and believes that its his age which helped him in this situation and became a cause of such speedy recovery. Danny said,
“He’s 24, he’s young and in good shape, and that’s partially why he has been able to recover from this injury so quickly so far”.
Danny also believes that his son would have to be very patient in such situation and will have to wait for the right time to start playing hockey again. He knows that it can be very difficult for a player to stop himself and keep himself away from action
but according to him it would be the key for recovery as he added,
“Any athlete … he’s going to get antsier and antsier with every week that goes by and all that. He’s going to have to discipline himself to follow the directions of the doctors and go by exactly what they say until one day they give him the green light.”
