The high flying All-Star wants an in house hiring for the general manager position and backs Garry Sacks as the best candidate

The Los Angeles Clippers are yet to end their hunt for suitable person as their new general manager. The post was abruptly left vacant after the departure of Neil Olshey who decided to take a more lucrative offer
from the Portland Trail Blazers.
In the mean time, the trio of Gary Sacks, Vinny Del Negro and Andy Roeser have been looking over the management responsibilities and seem to have impressed Blake Griffin with their off-season work.
Griffin, who at the moment is recovering from a knee injury suffered while training with team USA in the Las Vegas training camp, feels that the Clippers have fared off rather well during the summer and believes
Sacks should be given the general manager position.
“If he doesn’t get the GM job I’ll be shocked and definitely a little disappointed because he deserves it and I think everybody else thinks he deserves it,” Griffin said. “I hope that it’s going to be him.”
Sacks is currently the director of player personal with the Clippers and is thought to be to be the brainchild behind the Chris Paul deal and a maximum contraction extension for Griffin during the off-season.
In what was a busy off season, the Clippers acquired Jamal Crawford and Lamar Odom. Crawford is yet another addition to an already strong shooting arsenal while Odom if fully committed can be an asset off the
bench. Chauncey Billups, who is still recovering from an ankle injury suffered last season, has also been re-signed.
The moves have not only been designed to help the Clippers have a strong upcoming season but to keep them interesting enough for All-Star point guard Chris Paul who becomes a free agent, next June.
Paul will discuss his situation with the Clippers at the end of next season and if he does not feel them to be competitive enough to eventually win an NBA Championship, the skilful point guard might be inclined
to leave. The Clippers are ready to pull out all the stops to bring back the All-Star point guard, who was the architect of one their most successful seasons last time around.
