Blake Tekotte gets a fresh start with Chicago White Sox – MLB News
Left fielder Blake Tekotte will start the 2013 Major League campaign with the Chicago side. He has been acquired from the San Diego Padres while in exchange, the White Sox shipped right-hander Brandon Kloess to the Padres.
The 25-year-old outfielder is a good aggressive player and will be benefiting the Chicago White Sox in a big way.
On the other hand, the closer that White Sox traded to San Diego Padres, was playing in their Minor League affiliates for a couple of seasons.
“He had a down year last year, But he can run a little bit, play some defense, nice line drive stroke, can get on base. We still view him as a prospect, but he has to bounce back from some injuries and some swing adjustments he made last year,” Rick Hahn commented on Tekotte.
Tekotte finished this past Major League season with .133 hitting average and .133 OBP.
Experts believe that he is a good player and his arrival in the White Sox roster will make things more inspiring of rest of the franchise’s outfield.
Not only this in new development but the White Sox front office is currently also busy bringing some strategic changes in the roster for a better next few seasons.
Their general manager Rick Hahn is the main force behind who wants to improve as general manager. As a GM of an organisation, his duties include to make sure that everything is in order regarding new and experienced player combinations.
“The last two weeks have been a blur, This is all new to the territory, but I am looking forward to getting back to Chicago to continue to work on the actual job itself. It is bittersweet, You like to see your guys and good guys rewarded,” said Rick Hahn as he has made various changes regarding presiding over the team's meetings instantly before the general manager’s meetings.
Many still believe that Hahn is going into right direction and in the coming days, his strategic plan will be revealed in the media which some say will guarantee their next season’s playoff spot or a more successful year.
