Borussia Dortmund http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jakub-Blaszczykowski-c17616 has asked his side and fierce rivals’ Bayern Munich to make sure they keep cool heads and do not start a conflict in the UEFA Champions League final.
The two German heavyweights will meet at Wembley on May 25 after seeing of Real Madrid and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Barcelona-c39078 in the semi-final to make it a Bundesliga affair in London. They also faced each other in the domestic league over the weekend,
and played without a number of key players.
The match ended as a 1-1 draw but things are pretty hot between the two sides following public fallout after Der FCB confirmed their capture of attacking midfielder Mario Gotze. As a result of this, the BVB midfielder anticipates
a tough clash and not just a physical battle.
“I hope it's going to be intense, but not too fiery,” he said.
He claimed that football should be the focus in the final. He further added that emotions are expected to be high whenever these two teams face each other, but all parties should behave in the Champions League final.
“Football should always take centre stage. Of course it's always going to be emotional when these two clubs meet, but things should stay within the boundaries,” he added.
“It was a clear foul on me and the referee decided accordingly,” he mused.
“I was quite amazed by the discussions that followed, but I prefer to not comment on it as I consider it finished. It was important to keep cool on the pitch and not further rise to provocation. It wasn't at all easy, but fortunately we managed,” he stated.
Rafinha was given a red card following his challenge of Blaszczykowski, and created a rift between the Black Yellows’ head coach Jurgen Klopp and Die Roten sporting director Matthias Sammer. The Polish midfielder stated it was
a clear tackle and the match official was right to sent the defender off. He suggested that Dortmund should have won on Saturday.
