Blazer makes a screeching sound when wheel is cranked hard?

If you turn the wheel pretty far either way you get this god awful screech. Any ideas what it is? 87 blazer 305 v.8 6 inch lift on 33's

  1. Like what someone else said stop turning the wheel so far, but check fluid level and belt tension.


  2. Worn out or Dayco brand belt

  3. it might be the boot, and you shouldnt turn the wheel all the way to one side really hard, or you can rip that boot.

  4. Yep its still the power steering.  This is what I would do to stop the noise.  Stop turning the wheels so far..  

  5. sounds like its the power steering pump or the power steering belt.try checking the fluid level on the pump or check your belt for wear or maybe its just  loose  

  6. 87 has the old v belt tighten belt
