Bleaching a wool scarf?

i have a orange scarf that i am going to turn into a rikku scarf. i need to dye two ends yellow, will bleach do and how?

Do NOT put a wool scarf in bleach.  Bleach eats wool and dissolves it.  If you want to remove color from a wool yarn find an old pot that won't be used for cooking again (some dyes are toxic) and fill it with hot water.  Put it on the stove and bring it to a simmer.  Add a couple of tablespoons of powered Tide laundry soap into it and stir gently to dissolve it, but not to make suds.  Put the ends of your scarf in this and let it simmer until enough color comes out of it to allow you to overdye it the color you want.  Cool and rinse the scarf well in water of the same temperature as it has become to get the detergent out.  Then you can dye it again.
