Question:

Bleeding 4 days post ivf transfer?

I had 3 embryos put in on Thursday. It's currently 3:30AM. I just got up to pee and discovered runny red blood which has now almost stopped. It was definately red but very watery and runny due to discharge from the suppossitory. I'm doing progesterone in oil injections AND suppossitories. I have light menstrual cramps as well. In a conventional cycle I would basically be 6 or 7 dpo...too early for period. Could this be implantation?

  1. I sure hope it's a great sign and that it is implantation bleeding! Know that spotting is VERY common!

I know that those darn suppositories can cause irritation and spotting as well can be known to cause vaginal irritation, which can sometimes result in spotting AND it can sometimes leak out when warmed to body temperature so that can also be slightly colored as well. Also, there may be a little blood left from your retrieval and the suppositories are drawing that out.

Just to be on the safe side, call your RE and let them know. They may want to up your injections dose and stop the suppositories to stop any possible irritation.

Keeping all things crossed for you!

  2. It does sound like implantation bleeding!

During my IVF cycle, I had a bit of spotting about 7 days past transfer and that was what it was like.  Just the one time - if I blinked, I would have missed it on the toilet paper.

    Sending you positive sticky vibes!!!!!
